It's a privilege to know a director of Hoover & Strong. One of my buddies from my Metal Jewelry class, Stewart,is one. Last Tuesday was our last class, and we had the pleasure of getting a grand tour of the whole factory. It was A-W-E-S-O-M-E.

I would never imagined gold and platinum could be that heavy. I held fifty thousand dollars worth of gold and one hundred and forty thousand dollars worth of platinum in my tiny hands. Yellow gold, white gold, pink, green, they were everywhere!

Of course they have a metal detector and a totally tight-assed security guard guarding the entrance to the building. That guy was taking his job way-way-way too seriously. So think twice before slipping some precious metal in your pocket. He'll have your ass spanked in an instant!

Anyways, I am probably going to have a major nervous breakdown in a couple of days because nobody is going to bid, or if somebody actually bids, it's going to be like...ugh...two bucks??? Or what if the bid comes from some weird-ass loser guy? The date is so going to be terribly awful, and I'd have no icebreakers whatsoever when it gets awkward... or... or... AAAAHHHHHHH!!! *panic!!!*

I know this doesn't sound like me at all, but I mustered the courage to go to Target and bought myself a curling iron (the hell???).

And I actually figured out how to use it.

And I think I did a pretty decent job because my kickball buddy told me I looked really hot. And he was totally hitting on me the whole night.

My boss, Zoe, is retiring at the end of May. Thus, to make sure she doesn't forget all the troublemakers she's worked with over the last few years, we decided to take a picture together. Just because.
